Wilson – Funeral Services for Mr. Reuben Leo Rich, 73, of Wilson are scheduled for 10 am Wed. January 5, 2011 at the Wilson Assembly of God Church with Rev. Dale Tarp officiating. Interment will follow at Hewitt Cemetery in Wilson. Services are under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.
Leo was born June 14, 1937 at Oscar, OK to the late Mr. O.F. “Tobe” Rich and Mrs. Lois Velma (Richardson) Rich. He departed this life Sunday, January 2, 2011 at Ardmore, OK.
Leo graduated from Ryan High School in 1955. He was employed as a ranch hand before he became employed in the oilfield. He was an oilfield salesman and in the supply business until he retired in 1998. He served as a reserve police officer for the Wilson Police Dept and was a volunteer fireman for many years.
Leo was first married to the former Ms. Jamie Hodges, who is the mother of Tina, Deon and Ricky. He later married the former Ms. Betty Beck January 6, 1972 at Ringling and she preceded him in death on December 12, 2002.Leo was always a very friendly person and always had a “hello” and a story for everyone. He will be missed by all that knew him. He attended the Assembly of God Church of Wilson.
Also preceding him in death are his Parents, 1 Infant Brother, and nephew Dennis Rich.
Survivors include his Daughters, Janie “Cookie” Snow and husband Hoss of Emory, TX, Tina Cox and husband Mike of Loco, Candie Porterfield and Robbie Morse and husband Brent, both of Wilson. Sons, Deon Rich and wife Jonene of Healdton, Ricky Rich and wife Melody of Healdton and Jody Rich and wife Leedale of Wilson. Brothers, Larry Rich and wife Janice of Olney, TX, and Gary Don Rich and wife Sherry of Waurika Lake. 19 Grandchildren and 13 Great Grandchildren and numerous other family and friends.
Pallbearers are Barry Hickman, Greg Beck, Johnnie Hunziker, Terrell D. Tucker, Larry Gunter, and Kenneth Reeder.
Honorary Bearers will be Grandchildren.
Family visitation will be from 6-8pm Tuesday evening at the funeral home in Wilson.
