Wilson – Memorial Services for Mr. Jackson Ray Manley, 81, longtime resident of Wilson are scheduled at later date. Mr. Manley departed this life Thursday, February 3, 2011 at his home in Wilson.

Ray was born February 3, 1930 at Florence, TX to the late Mr. Samuel Franklin Manley and Mrs. Lennis May (Smith) Manley. He was raised in Texas residing mostly in Grimes County. He joined the United States Air Force August 27, 1951 and served his country honorably for a total of 20 years and 11 months and 4 days, retiring August 1, 1972 at Anchorage, Alaska. He and the former Betty Jean Kincheloe were united in marriage July 2, 1955 at Ardmore. At his retirement they initially moved to Florida where they lived shortly before making their home in Wilson. During his retirement he enjoyed fishing, visiting with family and fixing things. Ray always had a great respect for all animals and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Wilson.

Preceding him in death are his Parents, Son, Michael Ray Manley, May 24, 2007, Sister, Margarette Manley and 1 Infant Brother.

Survivors include wife, Betty of the home; Daughters, Debbie Harris and husband Rev. Ronnie Harris of Marietta, Sharon Manley of Wilson, and Paula Ethridge and husband Paul of San Antonio, TX. Grandchildren, Rebecca and Anthony Harris, Nathaniel, Elizabeth, Keegan and Connor Ethridge, April and Isabelle Manley.

Arrangements are under the direction and care of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.
