Ramona Fay Capshaw

Byars – Graveside Services for Ramona Fay (Grubbs) Capshaw, 76, of Velma are scheduled for 2:00 PM Thursday, December 9, 2010 at the Byars Cemetery in Byars, OK with Pastor Eugene Christian officiating.

Ramona was born January 14, 1934 at McAlister, OK to the late Mr. Vernon L. Grubbs and Mrs. Naomi Lee (Dihl) Grubbs. She departed this life Monday, December 6, 2010 at her residence in Velma.

Ramona was raised in the Oklahoma City area. She married Mr. Louie Capshaw July 26, 1952 at Oklahoma City. They resided in Oklahoma City for 2 years before moving to Longpoke, CA. They were residents of Longpoke until 1977, when they returned to Oklahoma living in the Velma area. Ramona was always a wonderful homemaker and housewife. She loved to garden, always having a beautiful yard and flowers, especially her favorite pianese flower. She was very talented musician playing the piano and was an accomplished artist providing some beautiful paintings throughout her years. While living in this area she attended the Pruitt Assembly of God Church in Ratliff City.

Preceding her in death are her Parents, Brother, Vernon Grubbs,Jr., and a Sister, Loretta McIntyre.

Survivors include Husband Louie E. Capshaw of the home, 4 Daughters, Sherry Lynn Hargis of Velma, Jeri Denise Pico and husband David of Lompoc, CA, Trina Louise Pate and husband Oscar of Gordo, AL, and Ramona Frances Holmes and husband Charles of Peoria, AZ. Son, James Ray Capshaw and wife Jodie of Sulphur. Sister, Lucretta Gwaltney of Hisperia, CA and brother, Lloyd Grubbs and wife Juanita of Norman. 7 Grandchildren, 8 Great Grandchildren and 4 Great Great Grandchildren.

Services are under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Ratliff City.
