Phyllis Jan Price

Wilson - Celebration of Life Services for Mrs. Phyllis Jan Price, 65, are scheduled for 2:00 PM Sunday, December 27, 2015 at Alexander Funeral Home Chapel of Wilson, with Carolyn Higdon officiating.

Phyllis was born on April 9, 1950 at Ardmore to the late Mr. Thomas L. Roberts and Mrs. Bobbie J. (Sanders) Roberts. She went to to be with the Lord and Savior on Thursday, December 17, 2015 at Wagoner.

Jan was raised mostly at Wilson moving to Plano, TX at the age of 16. Jan attended cosmetology school at Ardmore. In Healdton she was a hairdresser and also owned and operated The House On Sycamore for several years along with friend, Sylvia Dewbre. In 2007 she moved from Healdton to Wagoner working for the housing program as district manager, just recently retiring in July. While residing in Healdton, Jan was very involved in the Chamber of Commerce, receiving the Outstanding Community Service Lucille Hughes Award in 1997 and also the Citizen of the Year Award in 1998. Jan attended church and enjoyed studying her bible. She loved antiques, as she bought and collected many over the years. She enjoyed doing weddings and decorating cakes. Jan was a very giving and loving person.

Preceding her in death was her father, Thomas Roberts, and stepfather, Maurice Epley.

Survivors include her mother, Bobbie Epley of Wilson; son, Shane Price and wife Kellie of Wilson; sisters, Susan Lyon and husband Larry of Lone Grove, Lou Ann Green of Mineola, TX; brothers Thomas L. Roberts and wife Delores of Wilson, Chuck Epley and wife Peggy of Carrolton, TX; grandchildren, Blaze and Steelie Price; special friends, Sylvia Dewbre, Sonya McNack and Ken McGlaughlin; and numerous other family and friends.

Family visitation will be held 1 P.M. prior to the service at the Alexander Funeral Home Chapel of Wilson.
