Little River, KS - Graveside Services for Mrs. Phyllis Aileen (Campbell) Cassingham, 97, of Little River, KS is scheduled for 10:00 am Saturday, August 17, 2019 at the Bean Cemetery in Little River with Pastor Jeff Goetzinger officiating. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Healdton, 65 Golf Course St.
Mrs. Cassingham was born on June 11, 1922 at Geneseo, KS to the late Mr. George Campbell and Mrs. Georgia (Hoffman) Campbell. She departed this life on Sunday, August 11, 2019 at a nursing home facility in Wilson, OK.
Mrs. Cassingham was one of 14 children born to Mr. and Mrs. Campbell, residing in Geneseo, KS. She married Mr. Harold Cassingham on Nov. 11, 1939 at Little River, KS. They made their home there, where Mrs. Cassingham served as a cook for the Little River Public Schools for a number of years. Upon retirement from there, she worked some years at the Sandstone Heights Nursing Home also as a cook.
Mr. Cassingham preceded her in death in 2004 and Mrs. Cassingham continued to reside at their home in Little River. She enjoyed mowing her own lawn as long as she was able and always enjoyed having a garden and doing embroidery work.
In addition to her husband, those also preceding her in death are her parents; son, Galen H. Cassingham; one infant sister, Ima Jean Campbell; brothers, Jack, Charles, Kenneth, Donald, Marvin and George and sisters, Betty Birka and Berniece Keehner.
Survivors include her daughter in law, Gloria Cassingham of Ellsworth, KS; grandson, Terry Cassingham and wife Deana of Healdton; granddaughter, Tamera Pearson and husband Matt of Newark, DE; great grandchildren, Lauren Davison and husband Clint, Danielle Wells, Tyler Pearson and Taylor Pearson; great great grandchildren, Wyatt Davison and Abi Davison; sisters, Joyce, Velma and Margaret and a brother Wayne; numerous nieces, nephews and other family.
Honorary Bearers are Clint Davison, Matt Pearson, Tyler Pearson, Allen Birka, Wyatt Davison, Lauren Davison, Danielle Wells, Taylor Pearson and Abi Davison.
