Penny Lou Gossvener

Wilson - Funeral services for Penny Lou (Sturgeon) Gossvener, 74, of Ardmore is scheduled for 10:00 AM Wed. Feb. 24, 2021 at Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel of Wilson with Rev. John Harris officaiting. Interment will follow at Hewitt Cemetery of Wilson.

Penny was born in Oakland, CA to the late Mr. Bernard "Barney" Wendell Sturgeon and Mrs. Leona Myrtle (Daniel) Sturgeon. She departed this life Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at Ardmore.

Penny was raised in Edmond attending high school at Edmond High. She attended college at Central State where she later received her Bachelors Degree majoring in Elementary Education and minoring in English. While attending college, Penny met and later married Dana Gossvener of Healdton and they made their home in Healdton.

Penny worked as a second grade teacher for many years at Fox Public Schools. She retired from teaching in 1999. She loved to shop and enjoyed reading. She was a member of the Healdton Assembly of God Church.

Her parents, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her daughter, Heather R. Hacker and husband Donny of Ardmore; son, Brandon Gossvener and wife Kari of Ardmore; grandchildren, Zain Gossvener, CeAnne Cathey and Lilly Hacker; great grandchildren, Aceleigh Cathey and Conor Cathey; numerous other family and friends.

Casket bearers will be Andy Jones, Shane Price, Greg Munholland, Danny Murray, Kevin Henderson and Bill McCartney.

Honorary bearers are Penny's classmates of Edmond High 1965 and Co- Educators of Fox Elementary.

Family visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm Tuesday evening at Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Wilson.
