Peggy Lou Jones

Ringling – Funeral Services for Mrs. Peggy Lou (Morton) Jones, 80, of Ringling are scheduled for 2:00 PM Monday, September 17, 2012 at the First Baptist Church of Ringling with Rev. Mike Williams officiating. Interment will follow at the Ringling Memorial Cemetery in Ringling. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Funeral Home of Ringling.

Peggy was born January 28, 1932 on East 4th St. , 2nd House after crossing the bridge in Oklahoma City to the late Mr. Rufus Henry Morton and Mrs. Vera May (Bree) Morton. She departed this life Thursday morning September 13, 2012 at a nursing home facility in Ardmore.

Peggy was raised in the Lone Grove area attending school at Cheek. She first resided at Oklahoma City and then California where she met and married Mr. Norm Jones in the mid 70’s. At California, Peggy worked as a cultivator in the Rose fields until her retirement. In 1991 she then moved to Buffalo, TX and then to Ringling in 2005. Norm preceded her in death in 1988.

Peggy enjoyed volunteering for the Ringling Nutrition Center delivering meals. She also enjoyed reading, especially western books. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star at Hemet, CA and also volunteered at the Hospice of Mercy in Buffalo, TX for 5 years. She was very active in the Women’s III Sunday School Class at the First Baptist Church of Ringling where she attended and held her membership.

In addition to her husband Norm, also preceding her in death is her Parents; Daughter, Donna “Sissy” Constabile –Jan. 11, 2003; Son, Gary Don Allen – 3/29/2003; Sister, Juanita King and Brother, William Morton.

Survivors include three Daughters, Kathy Faulkner and husband Mike of Ringling, Daphne Herrington of Ringling, and Rhonda Walker and husband Terry of Springer. Sister, Estelle Trammell of California; Brother, Donald Castleberry of Texas; Grandchildren, Michelle and Brandon Faulkner, Jacob Herrington, Rebecca Constabile, Conan Allen and Aro Allen. Extended family, Lola, Janelle, Dan, and Butch. Numerous other grandchildren and great grandchildren. Last but not least, Family and friends of Whispering Oaks Nursing Home of Ardmore.

Pallbearers are Cody Barnes, Joby Barnes, Brandon Faulkner, Jacob Herrington, Tim Moody, Adam Porterfield and Conan Allen.

Honorary Bearers are the members of the Women’s III Sunday School Class of the First Baptist Church of Ringling, Stanley Hudson, Bea Hudson, Lois Branch, Mary Jo Fish, and Aro Allen.

Family visitation will be from 5-7pm Sunday evening at the funeral home of Ringling.
