Peggy Irene (Cox) Russell

Mrs. Peggy Irene (Cox) Russell was born July 27, 1926 near Dillard, OK to the late Homer Bruin Cox and Willie Irene (Hicks) Cox. She passed away Sunday April 20, 2008 at her residence in Oklahoma City at the age of 81 yrs, 8 months and 23 days.

Peggy grew up at Wilson graduating Wilson High School in 1944. She later attended college at Oklahoma University for one year. She resided in Ardmore until returning to Wilson in the early 80’s. Most recently she had lived in Oklahoma City for the past two years. She was always a die hard Sooner Fan, especially during Football and Women’s Basketball seasons. She enjoyed as a Hobby, cross-stitching , working cross word puzzles and reading. She was a member of the St. Phillips Episcopal church in Ardmore.

Preceding her in death is her Parents, and 1 brother Ralph T. Cox.

Survivors include 1 Daughter, Jo Donna Hutchison of Oklahoma City, 3 Sons Randall S. Russell of Ardmore, Steven L. Russell and wife Brenda of Springer, and Casey J. Russell and wife Marguerite of Oklahoma City. 1 Sister Gertrude H. Burgin of Oklahoma City. 5 Grandchildren, Cassie Glave of Norman, Jamie Hutchison of Oklahoma City, Eric Russell of Oklahoma City, Doug Hutchison of the United States Marine Corps who is presently serving in Iraq, and Ansley Irene Russell of Oklahoma City. 2 Great Granddaughters, Karissa and Avallonis. Numerous other family and friends.
