Pearl Ann Powell

Wilson - Funeral Services for Pearl Anne “Mossie” Powell, 48, are scheduled for 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at Alexander Funeral Chapel in Wilson with Rev. Sid Bazzrea officiating. Interment will follow at Simon Cemetery. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home in Wilson.


Pearl or better known as “Mossie”, was born August 24, 1960 at Ringling to the late Mr. Garland Thomas and Mrs. Pearl Edithe (Marshall) Powell. She departed this life Sunday morning March 1, 2009 at her home in Ardmore.


Mossie was raised in Wilson attending school here. She remained at Wilson, raising her 3 boys here and was employed for several years as a nurse at the Wilson Nursing Center. She moved to Ardmore in 2001 and worked at the Western Hills Assisted Living Center as a Nurse as long as her health allowed. She always enjoyed spending time with her Sons and especially her grandchildren, and also with her sister Judy, cherishing the many breakfasts and shopping occasions together.


She is preceded in death by her Parents, 2 Brothers, Jerry “Hunk” Powell and Tommy Powell, Sister Garlene Corbell and a nephew Bodey Powell.


Survivors include her beloved 3 sons, Donnie “Judge” Hogan of Wilson, Randy Sanderson of Wilson and Jerry Sanderson of Ardmore. Her companion, Travis Johnson of Ardmore. Sister, Judy Hacker of Wilson. 3 Brothers, R.D. Powell, Gary Ray Powell and Carl Robert Powell all of Wilson. 4 grandchildren, Ashlynn Hogan, Madisyn Sanderson, Marley Sanderson and Cole Keith Hogan.


Pallbearers are R.D. Powell, Carl Powell, Gary Powell, Donnie Hogan, Randy Sanderson, and Jerry Sanderson.


Honorary Bearers are Michael Skelton, Billy Don Hacker, Billy Floyd Hacker and Gary Dean Jones.


Family visitation will be from 6- 8 P.M. Tuesday evening at the funeral home in Wilson.
