Ringling – Funeral services for Patty Jean (Gann) Burns, 85, of Ardmore are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 7, 2012, at the Alexander Funeral Home Chapel in Ringling with Rev. Alex Costea officiating. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Ringling.
Patty was born December 31, 1926, at Ryan, Oklahoma to Newton and Della (Dunford) Gann. She departed from this life March 5, 2012 at Ardmore, OK.
Patty was raised in Grady attending school there. She married John McCurdy Burns January 29, 1946 at Norman. They made their home in Grady on the Gann Ranch residing there, moving to the town of Ringling in 1960 she worked as a secretary at Ringling Public Schools superintendent’s office mostly for Lonnie Parrish. She was also employed as a secretary at Hale Oilfield Co. at the Healdton /Wilson Y. She loved flowers, reading and sports, especially the OU Sooners, Dallas Cowboys and OKC Thunder. Patty was a member of the Ringling Methodist Church.
Patty was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
She is survived by two sons, Gann Burns and wife, Karen, Grand Prairie, TX, Bob Burns and wife, Kathy, Grady, OK; Grandchildren, Sage Burns, Shawn Murrah and Gary Burns; four great-grandchildren and many numerous family and friends.
Pallbearers are Bane Bigbie, Larry Roberts, Alan D. Roberts, Dink Wade, Matt Morris and Mickey Morris. Honorary bearer is Chad Thompson.
