Pansy Larue Griffin

Ringling – Funeral Services for Mrs. LaRue Griffin, 81, of Pooleville are scheduled for 10 am Saturday, July 31, 2010 at the Ringling United Methodist Church with Bryan Spivey officiating. Interment will follow at Ringling Memorial Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Ringling.

LaRue was born February 11, 1929 at Wirt to the late Mr. William Vernie “Shine” and Mrs. Lillie Mae (Evans) Dillon. She departed this life Wed. July 28, 2010 at Ardmore.

LaRue was raised in Wirt initially attending school at Dundee and later graduated High School from Ringling High in 1947. She married Mr. Charles E. “Soda Pop” Griffin on June 5, 1948 at Petrolia, TX. They resided in Grady, Spanish Fort, and Ringling before making their home in Pooleville. Charles preceded her in death on March 16, 2002. They shared many wonderful years together living at Pooleville for the last 40 years. LaRue was a very devoted homemaker and a wonderful “Nannaw” to her grandchildren. She had attended the Graham Baptist Church.

In addition to her husband, Her Parents, 2 sons, Gary and Brent and sister LaZorra Cook also preceded her in death.

Survivors include her daughter Carol Harris and husband Travis of Ardmore, 2 Sons, Jim R. Griffin and wife Sherry of Hennepin, and Jon Griffin and wife Sandy of Pooleville. Sister Jacque Riley of Loco. Grandchildren, Tiffany, Katie and husband Ele, Wade, Keena, Matt and Brandi. 5 Great Grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Wade Griffin, Matt Harris, Ele Romo, Terry Riley, Dale Riley, David Wallace.

Honorary Bearers are Peggy Milburn, Pat Wilson, Roger Butler, Troy Harris, Tony Woehst, “Poppa Dan”, Jerry Smith and Steve Smith.

Family visitation will be from 4-6 pm Friday at the funeral home in Ringling.

Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Leukemia Foundation in care of Alexander Funeral Home, 1302 7th St. Wilson, OK 73463.
