Countyline - Funeral Services for Mrs. Oretha (Cole) Wadkins, 84 of Healdton are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at the Countyline Baptist Church with Rev. Jamie Griffin officiating. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Healdton.
Oretha was born October 2, 1939 in Ada, OK to the late Mr. Thomas Jefferson Cole and Mrs. Gertie (Isenburg) Cole. She departed from this life on December 29, 2023 in Ardmore, OK.
Oretha resided in Countyline, OK and Kingston, OK most of her life. She married the late Mr. Ronald Wadkins in March of 1966 at Carlsbad, NM sharing 51 years of marriage together before his passing on August 11, 2017. Oretha enjoyed canning, quilting, arrowhead hunting, fishing, and hunting. She was a devoted homemaker and the glue of the family. Oretha had a nickname, "Charlie Girl and even had her very own fishing hole named "Charlie Girl Point" after her. Most of all, she really enjoyed just being a Nannie to her grandchildren who she had a big hand in raising.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Ronnie in 2017; siblings, Howard Cross, Treeta Blanton, Larrey Cole, Leah Kay Kile, Romonia Floweree, Gus Cole, Betty McKenna, and Eunice Beal; son in law, Benjamin Franklin "B.F." Elkins; grandson, Ronald Young; granddaughter, Jenna Sharee; and 3 great grandsons.
Oretha is survived by her children, Lucas Perkins and wife Ronda of Healdton, Deleta Young of Duncan, Delesa Elkins of Kingston, and Leslie Perkins of Helena; siblings, Gerald Cole and wife Sherri of Kansas and Meredith Steen Cole and wife Donna of Kansas; grandchildren, Shawnda, Marla, Chrissy, Roy, Paul, Raelynn, Angela, Ashley, Carla, and Joe Bill; 23 great grandchildren, numerous great great grandchildren; and by a host of other family and friends.
Pallbearers will be her great grandchildren, Rocco Robertson, Jayden Robertson, Ronald "RJ" Young, Little Felipe Munoz, Jesse Pittman, and Little Lucas Rucker.
Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 6-8 P.M. at Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Healdton.
