Buddy was born January 30, 1938 at Pernell, OK to the late Mr. Ollie Austin Jackson and Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth (Carroll) Jackson. He went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday evening, April 2, 2015 at his home in Healdton, at the age of 77 years, 2 months, and two days.
Buddy was raised at Fox graduating High School in 1955. He originally held employment in the Oilfield working for several companies at many capacities. He was a former senior officer for Armstrong Oil Tools and also worked as a truck driver, team driving with his son Jeff. He was self- employed for several years before surrendering to the ministry. Buddy was called to the ministry at a very early age in his life. As a minister he served as pastor at the Cheek Baptist Church and as interim pastor of Marsden Baptist Church. He also worked at the Baptist Children’s Home. Buddy loved sharing the Gospel in his everyday life. He served as pastoral care for Faith Hospice and was presently attending church at the Zaneis Baptist Church.
Buddy and the former Ms. Linda “Missy” Kay Miller were united in marriage on January 7, 2006 at the Bethel Baptist Church in Healdton. They shared many happy moments together. Buddy loved to golf, fish and had a passion for flying airplanes.
Preceding him in death were his parents , Ollie and Sarah Jackson; brother, Charles A. Jackson; two sisters, Betty Jane Jackson and Lorene Holbrook; grandson Derek Charles Wilson; great granddaughter, Faith Langley; brother in law, Ernie Miller and sister in law, Paula Miller.
Survivors include his wife Linda “Missy” Jackson of the home in Healdton and her children, Christy Mercer and husband Jeremy of Corona, CA and Rocky Ficklin and wife Lacey of Ardmore; two daughters, Karen Davoult and husband Ed of Lone Grove and Lisa Jo Jackson of Healdton; Son, Jeff Jackson and wife Kristi of Healdton and their mother, Wanda Jo Jackson; sister in law, Cleo Jackson of Fox; 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
