Mr. Ollen Dewayne Farrell, age 72, of Ringling, Oklahoma, passed away on December 26,2024, in Ardmore, Oklahoma. A service honoring his life will be held on Monday, December 30, 2024, at 10:00 A.M. at the Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Joe Taylor officiating. Following the service, cremation will take place.
Ollen was born on August 5, 1952, in Denton, Texas, to the late Mr. Otis Delman Farrell and Mrs. Ruby Mae (Toombs) Sheffield. He spent his early years in various locations across Texas and Oklahoma, primarily attending George Washington School in Durant. His grandmother, Grace Mae Russell, played an influential role in his upbringing, ensuring he participated in church activities during his youth.
After high school, Ollen contributed to the Wells Brothers Farm in Plano, Texas, working both on the farm and in their feed store. In 1970, he joined the United States Marine Corps, completing his boot camp training in San Diego before being honorably discharged for medical reasons. Following his military service, Ollen pursued a career in truck driving, traveling extensively throughout the United States and Canada.
On November 11, 2017, Ollen married Sandra Pellegrin in a heartfelt ceremony at a friend's residence in Pooleville. He held a keen interest in building cars, mechanics, fishing, and gardening, hobbies that brought him great joy.
Ollen is preceded in death by his parents and three sisters: Ruby Faye, Patricia Ann, and Shirley Louise. He is survived by his loving wife, Sandra Farrell; children Dewayne Farrell and wife Brandy, Sabrina Burns and husband Kevin, Justin Farrell, Josh Farrell, Matt Farrell and wife Mallory, and Jamie Verdin and husband Nathan; along with 21 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 9 siblings, and a multitude of extended family and friends.
Pallbearers will include Dewayne Farrell, Kevin Burns, Jermaine Bennett, Leeboo Freeman, Jacob Cummins, and Willie Hatten.
Visitation will take place on Sunday, December 29, 2024, from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel.
