Oliver Cleo Abshire

Ringling - Memorial Services for Mr. Oliver Cleo Abshire, 81, of Ringling are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at the Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ in Ringing with Pastor Billy Holder officiating. He departed this life on Wed. May 31, 2017 at his home in Ringling. Arrangements are under care of Alexander Gray Crematory of Ringling.

Oliver was born Nov. 14, 1935 at Ringling to the late Mr. Coy Abshire and Mrs. Myrtle Lee (Evans) Abshire. He was raised in this area attending school at Atlee, Claypool and Centerpoint before moving to Ringling. They made their home in Ringling on Main Street when Oliver was in the 6th grade. He joined the U.S. Army in 1953 and served honorably during the Korean War.

Oliver and the former Ms. Nancy Estes were united in marriage on April 3, 1967 at Wichita Falls, TX. They made their home mostly residing in Southern California. There Oliver worked mostly as a Psychiatric Technician for California Department of Mental Health. They resided in California for 45 years moving back to Ringling just 3 years ago. Oliver enjoyed being a member of the Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ and loved all of his Church family. Oliver had a great love for horses and enjoyed riding them often. He also enjoyed riding ATV's and spending time with his grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his Parents and a brother, Jerry Abshire.

Survivors include his loving wife Nancy of the home; daughters Maylynn Motley and husband Brian of Riverside, CA and Tracy Hampton of and husband Mark of Clearwater, FL; 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandsons; sister, Tammy Norton and husband Henry of Ratliff City; brothers, Coy Abshire and wife Marge of Ringling and Billy Ray Abshire of Branson, MO; numerous nieces, nephews and other family.
