Pruitt City- Funeral Services for Mrs. Willie Oleta Marshall Ozment, 96, Of Pruitt City are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday September 4, 2009 at the Fox First Baptist Church with Rev. Carl Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at Hewitt Cemetery in Wilson.


Mrs. Oleta Marshall Ozment was born to the late Mr. William and Mrs. Cordelia (Davis) Brown on December 28, 1912 at Wetumka, OK. She departed this life Monday, September 1, 2009 at her home in Pruitt City.


On June 25, 1932 in Holdenville, Oleta and the late Mr. D.P. “Dink Phillip” Marshall were united in marriage. He preceded her in death on March 31, 1979. She later married the late Mr. John Ozment and he also preceded her in death on January 5, 1995. Also preceding her in death is her Parents, son, Donald Eugene Marshall and brothers, Beecher, Hiram, and Mitchell Brown and sisters, Sota, Harwell, May Petty, Mattie Abney and Stella Taylor.


She is survived by a daughter, Sue Low of Pruitt City, Son, Phillip Marshall and wife Jane of Ardmore. 4 Grandchildren, Kathy Pulis and husband Arron of Pruitt City, Brenda Combs and husband Rodney of Noble, Rich Marshall and wife Jennifer of Ardmore, and Jace Marshall and wife Meredith of Oklahoma City. 4 Great Grandchildren, Michael Pulis of Pruitt City, Nicholas and Lauren Marshall of Ardmore, and Caroline Marshall of Oklahoma City. Step children, Rex Ozment and wife Conny, Mike Ozment, and Eilene Barnett. Sister in Law, Levonah Qualls and nephew Ronald Qualls of San Pedro, CA as well as several nieces and nephews.


Oleta grew up in the farm community of Horntown, OK, and graduated from Moss High School. During WWII, she and husband Dink worked at the McAlester Ammunition Plant in the shipyards in Oakland , CA. The family moved from New Mexico in 1954 to Fox which she considered her true home. She loved the Fox Community, and was very active in the Fox Baptist Church. She was an avid supporter of the Fox Schools and its athletic programs which she attended as long as she was able.


Oleta worked in the Fox community as a grocery store clerk, a waitress and bookkeeper. She enjoyed cooking , sewing , gardening and watching her beloved wild blue birds.


Casket Bearers will be Phillip Marshall , Rich Marshall, Jace Marshall, Arron Pulis, Michael Pulis, Rodney Combs and Hoot Kirkpatrick.
