Novie "Devon" Punneo

Lone Grove - Graveside ceremony for Mr. Novie "Devon" Punneo, 73, of Lone Grove are scheduled for 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at Keller Cemetery north of Wilson with Bro. Leo Potts officiating. Family visitation will be held from 6 to 8 P.M. Monday evening at Alexander Funeral Home in Wilson.

Devon was born on October 5, 1944 at Comanche to the late Mr. Novy Earl Punneo and Mrs. Maudie Rose (Hall) Punneo. He departed this life on Friday, April 27, 2018 at his home in Lone Grove.

Devon was raised at Duncan graduating High School there in 1960. He married the former Ms. Barbara Hembree on Dec. 15, 1962 at Wichita Falls, TX. They made their home in Ardmore in 1968 and soon developed Punneo Services which moved to Lone Grove in 1976. Punneo Services initially operated as a truck and tire service. It is now most recognized as a salvage recycling and demolition business. Devon enjoyed many years of hard work alongside his wife Barbara and son J.D. He also enjoyed bird hunting in his younger years and most especially racing his horses on the track.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Novy Earl and Maudie Rose Punneo and a brother, David Earl Punneo.

Survivors include his wife Barbara of the home; sons, Jonathan Devon "J.D." and wife Kathryn of Wilson and Ron Punneo and life partner Jon Shaffer of Houston; granddaughters, Paige Lewis and husband Casey and Haylee Burris, all of Wilson; great grandchildren, Nixon and Lilly Lewis; sisters, Phyllis Fish and husband Dearl and Guynell Ferguson and husband Mike all of Duncan; numerous nieces and nephews and other family.

Casket Bearers will be his nephews. Honorary Bearers will be Judy Fowler, Janice Burk, Amanda Burk and Belinda Tatum.
