Nolan “ Illester” Edward Brown

Graham – Funeral Services for Mr. Nolan “Illester” Edward Brown, 77, of Graham will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday August 7, 2010 at the Graham Baptist Church with Steve Melton and Glen Brown officiating. Interment will follow at the Graham Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home in Wilson.

Nolan “Illester” Edward Brown was born April 27, 1933 at Big Canyon, Oklahoma to the late Mr. Jesse James Brown and Mrs. Juanita (Blain) Brown. He departed this life on Wednesday, August 4, 2010 in Ardmore.

Nolan was raised at Dougherty and attended school there. He married the former Ms. Nadine Rodgers April 25, 1953 at Gainesville, TX. They moved to Graham after they were married and have made their home there ever since. They recently celebrated 57 years of marriage. His working career was spent working in the oilfields with Sharon Oil Company of Oklahoma City as the production foreman. He had a special love for all of God’s creatures and he also loved working on small engines or anything mechanical.

He was preceded in death by his Parents, Sister – In- Law, Bonnell Brown and a Nephew, Jerry Loyd Brown.

Survivors include his loving wife Nadine Brown of the home, 3 daughters, Valorie Feiler of Tulsa, Nita Duvak and husband Alvin, Phylis Graham both of Lone Grove, 2 Sons, Raymond “Tony” Brown of Graham and Phillip Brown of Ardmore, 2 Brothers Glen Brown and wife Holly of Pruitt City and Loyd Brown of Graham, 8 Grandchildren and 6 Great-Grandchildren. Special friends like family Stephen and Connie Burns and family, James and Mary Burns. A Special thank you to the Mercy Memorial Staff and Dr. Shockey, “We appreciate everything that everyone has done for the family during his illness.”

Serving as pallbearers will be Ray Fletcher, Jack Brown, David Gear, Lance Wilkerson, Lee Grant, Daniel Burns and Jamie Griffin.

Family visitation will be Friday evening from 6-7 at the Funeral Home in Wilson.
