Nina Marie Slawson

Wilson - Funeral Services for Mrs. Nina Marie (Knight) Slawson, 58, of Wilson are scheduled for 10:00 AM Monday, June 19, 2017 at Alexander Funeral Home Chapel of Wilson with Rev. Mark Fuller officiating. Interment will follow at the Hewitt Cemetery of Wilson.

Nina was born June 12, 1959 at Oklahoma City to the late Mr. Conger Tennis Knight and Mrs. Sammie Ruth (Hester) Knight. She departed this life on Wed. June 14, 2017 at Wilson.

Nina was initially raised in Oklahoma City moving to Wilson during her eight grade year. She married Mr. James Slawson on Jan. 17, 1975 at the Wilson United Methodist Church. They moved frequently following work and have resided at Woodward, OK the last fifteen years. They have always called Wilson their home.

Nina worked primarily as a devout homemaker and had worked outside the home with the elderly at nursing homes, home health and delivering meals. She also enjoyed owning and operating "NMS Karaoke". Nina will be remembered for her appreciation of the small things in life and her compassionate heart and zany personality. She loved riding motorcycles with Jimmy and was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Wilson.

Preceding her in death are her Parents; son in law, Jason Bethea and a nephew, William Wayne Dorris, III.

Survivors include her husband James of the home; daughter, Renee Bethea and fiancee Kevin Butcher of Vici; son, Roy James Slawson and wife Rachael of Healdton; siblings, Shirley Richard and husband Charles, Buddy Knight, Bea Bird and husband John, Glenn Knight and wife Kathy, Jamie Strimple and husband Timothy, Paul Knight and wife Grace, Anna Mae Harris and husband Stan and Doris Arnett and husband Adrian; 11 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild; special lifelong friend, Lana Adams- Hartman; numerous other family and friends.

Casket Bearers are Roy James Slawson, Kevin Butcher, Jason Bethea, Justin Bethea, Joseph Bethea, Buddy Knight and Paul Knight.

Honorary Bearers are Greg Cole, David Plant, Albert Aguilera, Marlin Clark and Ned Spencer.

Family visitation will be held Sunday evening from 5 to 7pm at Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.
