Velma - A time of visitation for Nicklas "Nick" Duane Baird, aged 21, of Loco will be held from 5 to 7 PM on Thursday evening at the Alexander Gray Velma Chapel. Following the visitation, cremation services will take place at Alexander Gray Crematory.
Nick was born on December 5, 2002, in Ardmore, Oklahoma, to Christopher Don Baird and Anna Jean (Curran) Tennison. He sadly departed from this life on November 9, 2024, in Loco.
Raised primarily in Healdton and Velma, Nick was a creative spirit from an early age. His childhood was filled with a passion for Legos and video games, where his ingenuity shined through as he crafted impressive designs. In later years, he developed a fascination with metal forging, giving life to various swords he constructed.
Nick's strong work ethic and respect for others were hallmarks of his character. He cherished his friendships deeply, demonstrating love and kindness toward those around him.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Tom and Barbara Curran and Jerry Young, as well as his adopted father, Ray Hatfield.
Nick is survived by his mother, Anna Tennison and husband Kevin of Velma; his father, Chris Baird and wife Marie of Camargo, OK; his sister, Melinda Lara of Healdton; and his brothers from another mother, Dalton Sinks and fiancée Robin Harris of Loco, and Christian Glenn and fiancée Krista Lee of Duncan. He also leaves behind beloved family members including his grandmother, Donna Young of Healdton; Tim and Donna Carroll of Camargo; Valerie Tennison of Velma; and great-grandmother, Barbara Hubbard of Gurdon, AR. Additionally, he is remembered fondly by honorary parents Jim and Trisha Alexander and David and Lendsey Weaver, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and a multitude of friends.
Honorary bearers include Dalton Sinks, Jim Alexander, Christian Glenn, Rufus Gainer, Scotty Baird, Jacob Baird, Jesse Brown, and David Weaver.
