Mrs. Nettie Lourine (Smith) Jones


Wilson- Funeral Services for Mrs. Nettie Lourine (Smith) Jones, 64, of Healdton, are scheduled for 2:00P.M. Thursday November 6, 2008 at the Provence Assembly of God Church in Ardmore with Rev. Billy Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Provence Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.


Nettie was born July 6, 1944 at Provence to the late Mr. Roy Lee and Verna Hazel (Petty) Smith. She departed this life Monday November 3, 2008 at Ardmore.


Nettie was raised in the Provence area attending school at Springdale and Dickson. She was employed for Memorial and Adventist Hospitals in Ardmore for 13 years as a respiratory therapist. She married the late Mr. Leo Jones February 14, 1988 at Ardmore. They owned and operated “Leo’s Furniture” in Ardmore for 18 years. Nettie will always be remembered for her wonderful cooking, her passion for fishing, singing and her adoration for her kids and grandkids. She was a member of the Provence Assembly of God Church.


Preceding her in death is her Parents, husband, Leo Jones - May 11, 2005, 2 Brothers, Rev. C.R. “Sonny” Smith and Joseph Smith and 2 sisters Minnie Berry and Louise Chastain.


Survivors include a Son Dean Davis and wife Nicole of Ardmore, Daughter Tina O’Daniel and Fiancé’, George Luvin of Springer. 5 Grandchildren, Amanda Vaughn and husband James, Julie Walker and husband Ricky, Rachelle Butler, Ethan Davis and Cole Davis. 3 Great Grandchildren, Caleb and Bryce Vaughn and Dakota. Sisters, Ruthie Gibson and husband Buck of Ardmore, Guardey Poe of Haywood, OK. Numerous other family and friends.


Special thanks to Cross Timbers Hospice and Dr. Joe Hamill and the staff of the Cancer Center in Ardmore. Also to the nurses of Mercy Memorial 2 East and especially the caring Kitchen Staff of Mercy.


Casket Bearers will be Sgt. Jason Qualls, Roger Atnip, David Patton, Bucky Gibson, Jay Chastain and Steven Smith.


Family visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 6-9 pm at the funeral home in Wilson.
