Mildred Pauline Smith

Wilson – Funeral Services for Mrs. Mildred Pauline (Beeson) Smith , 89 formerly of Ringling is scheduled for 2:00 Pm Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at Alexander Funeral Home Chapel of Wilson with Rev. Jeff Hiller officiating. Interment will follow at Foster Cemetery near Elmore City. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.

Mildred was born October 19, 1922 at Royal, OK to the late Mr. William Calvin Beeson and Mrs. Verta Lillian (Brown) Beeson. She departed this life Saturday. January 14, 2012 at Ardmore.

Mildred was raised as a child living at Elmore City. She attended school there and graduated High School before attending college at Murray State in Tishomingo. After graduating at Murray she continued her education at Oklahoma A&M in Stillwater where she graduated with a Bachelors Degree. Her first teaching position was at Stigler. Thereafter she taught at Burbank, Mountain Home and Fox. While teaching at Mountain Home she met her soon to be husband Mr. Jack Dale Smith. They united in marriage August 1, 1948 at Pernell. Dale and her resided in Ringling farming and Ranching, while Mildred continued to teach at Fox and Loco after her children were old enough to attend school themselves. Mildred also taught at Ringling and Healdton retiring in 1982. While retired, Mildred continued working as a substitute teacher and always enjoyed gardening, sewing, crocheting and watching hummingbirds.

Dale preceded her in death on August 27th of 2003. Her Parents, Mr. William Calvin and Mrs. Verta Beeson also preceded her in death.

Survivors include 2 Daughters, Connie Smith of Healdton, and Marilyn Brannon and husband Alvin of Burburnett, TX. Sister, Sylvia Patterson and husband Clarence “Pat” of Lewisville, TX. 3 Grandchildren, Jeff, Justin and April. 10 Great Grandchildren and numerous other family and friends.

Pallbearers will be family.

Donations may be made to Aspire Hospice 880 East Main Tishomingo, OK 73460 or a local hospice of your choice.

Family visitation will be from 6-8 pm Monday evening at the funeral home I n Wilson.
