Ringling - Funeral Services for Mrs. Mildred J. Manning, 93 of Ringling are scheduled for 10:00 AM Monday, December 23, 2013 at the First Baptist Church of Ringling with Rev. Mike Williams officiating. Interement will follow at the Ringling Memorial Cemetery of Ringling. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Ringling.
Mildred was born on Nov. 22, 1920 at Healdton to the late Mr. Columbus Wilber Morris and Mrs. Ida Bell (Carnes) Morris. She departed this life Thursday, Dec. 19, 2013 at Ardmore.
Mildred was raised at Healdton attending school there. She married Mr. Leon Allison Manning on July 8, 1939 at St. Louis, MO. They resided at several different places throughout the United States following Leon work until his death on February 19, 1953. Then she moved back to this area residing at Ringling and soon became employed at Stromberg Carlson in Gene Autry. Mildred was employed at Gene Autry for several years before she retired. She loved to cook, making candy and loved to read especially poetry. She enjoyed her Sunday School Class and was a proud member of the First Baptist Church of Ringling.
In addition to her husband Leon, also preceding her in death is her Parents; Siblings,James and Jack Morris and Lou Cockereese and her beloved dog "Sissy".
Survivors include her Daughter, Jean McBain and husband Phil of Ringling; Son Douglas Manning and wife Doylene of Edmond; 4 Grandchildren, Debbie Patrick and husband Bennie, Chris McBain and wife Sandi, Desiree Mathews and husband Larry and Darrell Manning; 4 Great Grandchildren and 8 Great Great Grandchildren; Numerous other family and friends.
Casket Bearers are Chris McBain, Bennie Patrick, Terry Jackson, Darrell Manning, Mike Tripp, Junior Ogle, Stanley Watkins and Joe E. Roberts.
A special thanks to Vinita Thompson for her kind felt care and support of Mildred.
Honorary Bearers are Vernon Block, Kenneth King, Bill Smith and Larry Mathews.
Family visitation will be from 2-4 PM Sunday Afternoon at Alexander Funeral Home of Ringling.
