Mildred "Granny" Maxine (Horn) Clark

April 21, 1928 — September 2, 2022

Mildred "Granny" Maxine (Horn) Clark, of Wilson, departed this life on Friday, September 2, 2022 at Elmbrook Suites of Ardmore at the age of 94 years. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel of Wilson with Rev. John Harris officiating. Interment will follow at the Hewitt Cemetery in Wilson. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Wilson.


Maxine was born on April 21, 1928 in Wilson to the late Mr. J.B. Horn and Mrs. Elizabeth (Peck) Horn.


She grew up and attended school in Wilson. Maxine had briefly lived in the Wichita Falls, TX with her sister Bertha and worked at the kitchen in the hospital. She and Mr. Mason Melton "Mace" Clark, Jr. united in marriage on October 26, 1946 in Gainesville, TX. They resided in Ada and Seminole for a short while before permanently residing in Wilson. Maxine owned and operated the Dairy Lane of Wilson for several years. She always loved to play bridge and quilt. Maxine was a past volunteer for CASA and also served in the Carter County Election Board. She was a long time member of the Healdton Assembly of God Church.


Maxine is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Mace Clark, Jr. in 2013; son, Robert "Bobby" Clark; grandson, Curtis Ramsey; sisters, Lilly Haynes, Lola CiCia, Bertha Land, Maudine Herrell; brothers, Herbert Horn, "Knox" A.D. Horn, J.B. Horn, Henry Horn, and two infant siblings, Kenneth and Acee Horn.


She is survived by her daughter, JoAnn Brown and husband, Wayne of Ardmore; son, Jimmy Clark and wife Paula of Fairfield, TX; four grandchildren, Sherry Wheatley-Ramsey, Tim Brown and wife Monica, Cristal Banks and husband Jason, Mindy Pickens and husband David; 11 great grandchildren; 11 great great grandchildren; sister, Ella Herell of Bryan, TX; Numerous other relatives and a host of friends.


Serving as Casket Bearers will be Marcus Brinley, Jason Banks, David Pickens, Cameron McVeay, Mike Stewart, C.J. Ramsey, and Brandon Ramsey.


Honorary casket bearers are Tim Brown, Ray Haynes, Andy Herell, Carlos Badillo, Mel Reinders, Zane Gray, and Dakota Betrand.


Visitation will be held from 6-8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Wilson.
