Mickey Neil Wright

March 11, 1932 — January 12, 2017

Healdton - Funeral Services for Mickey Neil Wright, 84, of Ratliff City are scheduled for 2:00 PM Tuesday January 17, 2017 at the Midway Freewill Baptist Church in Healdton with Rev. Eugene Christian officiating and son Bob Wright providing the eulogy. Interment will follow at the Graham Cemetery. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Funeral Home of Ratliff City.

Mickey was born March 11, 1932 at Sayre to the late Mr. Homer Lee Wright and Mrs. Lena Pearl (Dunn) Wright. He departed this life on Thursday morning January 12, 2017 at his home in Ratliff City.

Mickey was raised at Fox west of Convict Hill near the Gulf camp. He attended school at Fox and graduated high school in 1951. Mickey married the former Glenna Gail Simpkins on August 1, 1952 at Spanish Fort, TX. Soon after he was drafted into the United States Army during the Korean War serving stateside. He was honorably discharged in 1961 and returned home with his family. Mickey worked in the oilfield all of his working years for several local companies. He worked as a rig operator, pumper and a consultant. Lastly he was employed for Tenneco as a pumper.

Mickey enjoyed going fishing above anything. When most folks would be just wetting their hooks he would be already skinning a stringer full of fish. He raised his family on fish, always having a deep freezer full. He knew every good fishing hole in the country.

Mickey was preceded in death by his father, Homer; mothers, Pearl (Green) Wright and Helen (Howard) Wright; wife Glenna Gail Wright- Nov. 11, 2002; sisters and brothers in law, Olga and Bob Livingston, Geneva and Max Johnson, Katheleen and Ervin Dobbs and Kaye and Dennis Sloan; brother and sister in law, L.H. and Nelda Wright; sisters, Deloris Ann Wright and Helene June Wright; brother in law, Robert Young and nephews, Mike and Max Wright.

He is survived by his children, Ronnie Wright and wife Mary of Ardmore; Beth White of Ratliff City; Bob Wright and wife Karen of Ardmore and Carl Wright and wife Pandora of Healdton; sisters, Jeanne Spaulding and husband Allen of Idaho, Sue Dill and husband Charles of Durant, Nancy Young of New Boston, TX and LeAnne Dowell and husband David of Durant; 12 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and other family.

Casket Bearers Mickey Mays, Matt Mays, Jimmy Wright, B.J. Wright, Artie Tolison and Dennis Sloan.

Honorary Bearers are James Smart, Johnny Hartman, Charlie Wright, Troy Lewellen, Melvin Morrow and Richard Watkins.

Family visitation will be held Monday evening from 6 to 8 PM Monday January 16, 2017 at Alexander Funeral Home of Ratliff City.
