Michael "Mikey" Gerald Wood

Ringling - Funeral services for Mr. Michael "Mikey" Gerald Wood, Jr., 39, of Ringling are scheduled for 11:00 AM Thursday, Dec. 23, 2021, at the New Hope Freewill Baptist Church in Lone Grove with Rev. David Gardner officiating. Interment will follow at the Cheek Cemetery south of Lone Grove. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Wilson.

Mikey was born on October 12, 1982, in Ardmore to Michael and Telina (Hamilton) Wood. He departed this world on Dec. 18, 2021. Mikey was a cowboy from head to toe. He loved riding horses and roping. He went to school at Plainview School, playing football and becoming a fan of Texas Longhorns. He loved bragging about them to his "Boomer Sooner" family just for fun.

Mikey married Kandise Reynolds on August 18, 2007, at Lake Murray Chapel, showing all of his love to his new bride, stepdaughter Jaylen, and anyone else who showed up. Mikey loved to fish, hunt, and spend time at the lake, swimming and enjoying life on the family houseboat.

Mikey and Kandise have 1 son, Lane Michael Kip Wood. Mikey loved Lane with all of his heart. He leaves behind to mourn his passing; his wife Kandise; son, Lane; father and mother, Mike and Telina Wood; sister, Amber Wood; 2 nephews, Logan and Levi; grandparents, Doyle and Melba Hamilton, Don and Lucretia Dickson, father and mother-in-law, Kip and Terri Reynolds; brother and sister-in-law, Erin and Kristin Berry; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends that will miss him daily. "Daddy Fikey and Uncle Fikey".

Mikey was a welder, one of the best in the state. He was employed at the VanBuskirk fertilizer in Ringling.

Casket bearers will be Cody Reynolds, Erin Berry, Rodney Crowell, Montie Raney, Logan Tucker, Will Hamilton, Kip Reynolds and Chase Briscoe.
