Ringling - Celebration of Life services for Mr. Michael Lynn Rapier, 46, of Stillwater are scheduled for 10:00 am Monday, June 4, 2018 at the First Baptist Church of Ringling with Rev. Mike Williams officiating. Interment will follow at the Ringling Memorial Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Ringling.
Michael was born September 23, 1971 to Danny and Linda Rapier in Ardmore, Oklahoma. He passed away at his home in Stillwater, Oklahoma on May 26, 2018.
As a young man Michael worked in the family business; first in the oilfield at Renegade Oil Service with his father and later with Danny’s Discount Grocery. He spent time working on an oil rig in Colorado and then returned to Ringling to open a restaurant called Mr’s. He was a member of the Ringling Fire Department #50 and a first responder in Ringling for 12 years. Michael returned to work in the oil field with Noble Energy in Stillwater; later known as Citation, and lived in Stillwater for 13 years. He went to work for White Star Petroleum in 2017.
The name Michael Rapier was known throughout. He was a great personal friend that a large army would lay claim to. Michael loved big and lived every day even bigger. His growl then burly laugh would not just fill a room, but an entire building. And it was never a shock when traveling halfway across the nation to mention being from Oklahoma and someone would say, “I know a guy from Oklahoma! His name is Michael Rapier.” Many know first-hand that is a fact. No one would laugh harder than he at the totally outrageous calamities and utterly unbelievable jams that seemed to encompass him and anyone in his radius. He brought such riches to his family and friends; well friends isn’t the right word because he brought in everyone as family. He liked motorcycles, fishing, hunting, camping, and a bit of carousing, but his passion was people. His net was cast wide. His tent would always hold one more. His campfire has gone out but his glow will guide all of us through this darkest hour. Ride on, brother.
Michael was preceded in death by his grandparents, W.S. and Eunice Rapier, and Fred Wilson. He is survived by his parents Danny and Linda Rapier, Ringling; grandparent Pat Wilson of Ringling,; brothers, Tracey Rapier and wife Tori of Ringling, and Casey Rapier and wife Leigh of Durant; nephews, Austin Rapier and Kane Rapier; nieces, Kennedi Rapier and Aniston Rapier, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and family.
Pallbearers will be Ty Hammons, Randal Jackson, Greg Hubbard, Brent Wade, Johnny Nipp and Scott Morris.
Honorary Bearers will be the Ringling High School Class of 1990 and his Co-workers with White Star and his many friends in Stillwater.
A family visitation is scheduled for Sunday evening from 5-8 P.M. at Alexander Funeral Home in Ringling.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Baptist Home for Girls, 13976 Anthony Lane, Madill, OK, 73446.
