Melvin Stanley Alpha

Wilson - Graveside services for Melvin Stanley Alpha, Sr. 78 of Wilson will be 10:00 am Friday, February 12, 2016 at Reck Cemetery with Sam Giddis officiating. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Funeral Home.

Melvin was born September 15, 1937 in Houston, TX to the late Paul Adam Alpha and Erma Lucille (McCracken) Alpha. He departed from this life on February 7, 2016 in Ardmore, OK.

Melvin was raised in Houston, TX attending school there. He later married former JoAnn Burk and to this union, they were blessed with 5 children, Donna Ann, Melvin, Paul and Teresa and they made their home in Wilson. Melvin worked as a truck driver in the oilfield and commercial over the road transport. Melvin retired in 1993 and since has enjoyed fishing and camping. He also enjoyed dancing.

He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter Teresa Renee McDaniel in 2004, siblings Edna and Henry and granddaughter April Powell.

He is survived by his daughters Donna Ford and husband Nick of Lone Grove, and Ann Whitley and husband Robert of Ardmore, sons Melvin "Jim" Alpha, Jr., and wife Sadie of Lone Grove, and Paul Alpha and wife Lisa of Healdton, brothers Bo Alpha, Frank Alpha and Burt Alpha all of Houston, TX, sister Jannette Longtine of Houston, TX, 15 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
