Max Lee Lawson

Ringling – Private Services for RET. US ARMY MSGT , Max Lee “Zeke” Lawson, 71, formerly of Marietta were held Monday, September 1, 2014. Services were under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home & Crematory of Ringling.

Mr. Lawson was born December 25, 1942 at Marietta to the late Mr. J B Lawson and Mrs. Clara Ruth (Keltner) Lawson. He departed this life Sunday evening, August 31, 2014 at his home in Ringling.

Mr. Lawson was raised at Marietta graduating from High School there. He was drafted into the United States Army during the Vietnam War and served honorably. He returned to this area after his discharge and soon afterwards, reenlisted into the United States Army making his military career a lifelong occupation. Once again he served another term in Vietnam. Many years serving in the United States Army Mr. Lawson retired as Master Sergeant on June 30, 1985. During his twenty years of distinguished honorable service he was awarded numerous decorations, medals and badges including the Bronze Star Medal.

Retiring from the Army, Mr. Lawson returned home and began delivering U.S. Mail as a contract Truck Driver for several years. In high school, he loved playing football and carried that passion with him the rest of his life. He was an avid football fan especially for the OU Sooners and Dallas Cowboys. He also loved attending the Church on The Rock of Ringling with Bro. Joe Taylor.

Preceding him in death were his Parents; Mr. J B Lawson and Mrs. Clara Ruth Coulter.

Survivors include his children; Delcena Barnes and husband Stanley of Ringling, Jackie Tadlock of Leon and Jerry Lawson and wife Sheila of Bellevue, NE; Brother, Jim Lawson of Ardmore; Sisters, Clara R. Claunch and husband Curt of Lexington and Brenda Ringwald and husband Dennis of Purcell; 6 Grandchildren, Heather Dutton and husband J, Brady Barnes, Brittany Lawson, J.T. Lawson, Hoss Tadlock, and Braxton Ferguson ; Great Grandchildren, Victoria and Joey Dutton. Numerous other family and friends.
