Master Sergeant Harold Dean Johnson (Ret)

Harold Dean Johnson, a proud veteran of the United States Army, passed away October 21, 2021 in Ardmore, OK.

The son of Daisy and Joseph Johnson, Harold was born in Healdton, OK, on June 27, 1934. Immediately following high school Harold joined the Navy for a four year tour. After an honorable discharge he earned his Masters of Education from Southeastern Oklahoma, Durant OK. From 1963 to 1991 he taught at various schools within the Gallup McKinley County School in New Mexico. Harold also served in the United States Army reserve in New Mexico and Oklahoma for 22 years. After retirement he moved to his home state of Oklahoma where he pursued his passion of hunting and storytelling.

Harold is survived by wife, Mitza Edith Johnson of Lone Grove, OK and his daughters Nina Gene Johnson of Las Vegas, NV, Dara Lisa Chavez Hudson of Tulsa, OK, and Roseann Hamblin of Yukon, OK. His stepchildren: Suyin Chan of Los Angeles, CA, Johnathan Chan of Panama City, Panama, Mitzy Medina of Rancho Cucamonga, CA, and Carmen Woodford of Las Vegas, NV. He was blessed with many wonderful grandkids: Devann Johnson, Savonn Johnson, Jaelynn Johnson, Kaiden Hudson, Kennedy Hudson, Easton Hudson, Lexi Brown, Bella Hamblin, Jagger Hamblin, and Hudson Hamblin, Madison Medina, Mitzy Medina, Keilyn Perez, Rachel Chan and his great grandson Kai Hudson.

When Harold wasn’t with family, he could be found enjoying his favorite pastime of hunting and reliving the story of each hunt with his friends and loved ones. In the winter he passed the days watching old westerns.

A service honoring the life of Harold Johnson will be held 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday October 27, 2021 at Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel in Wilson, OK.

Pallbearers will be Micky Davis, Monte Jones, Kaiden Hudson and Darryl Howard. Honorary Pallbearers are James E. Johnson and Ian Oneal.

Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 5-7 PM at Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Wilson.
