Wilson – Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Louise (Rector) Stearns, 65, of Wilson is scheduled for 10:00 AM Saturday, March 19, 2011 at the First United Methodist Church of Wilson with Rev. Sherry Kendrick officiating. Interment will follow at Simon Cemetery in Love County. Services are under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.
Mary was born November 11, 1945 at Kansas City, Missouri to the late Dr. Campbell Blinn Rector and Mrs. Noma (Dunn) Rector. She departed this life Wed. March 16, 2011 at Ardmore.
Mary moved to Wilson in 1954 and attended school here and later graduated High School from the Olney Friends Boarding School in Barnesville, Ohio. She attended East Central University in Ada for awhile, before moving to Kansas where she was employed working in a photo lab. A few years passed and she made the move back to Wilson and became an LPN working beside her mother Dr. Noma Rector at the Rector Clinic in Wilson. She was also employed for Total Refinery in Ardmore and worked on the family farm south of Wilson. Mary enjoyed the outdoors and taking care of her goats, horses and chickens and she always had a garden. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Wilson.
Preceding her in death is her Parents.
Survivors include her Daughter, Katherine Stearns of Ardmore; Son, Ronnie Stearns, Jr. and wife Amanda of Wilson, Grandson Chay Stearns of Ardmore; Brother, Dr. John R. Rector and wife Doris of Comanche. Cousin, Cindy Williams of Ardmore and special friends, Mary Talkington of Ardmore and Elder Thompson of Fox. Numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Justin Nipp, Curtiss Nipp, Rowdy Brumley, Daniel Hull, David Hull and Justin Nielson.
Honorary Bearers David Shores, Dave Shores, Elder Thompson, Corky Croan, Bill Holt, Chicken Lynch, Ronald Alexander, Bill Mitchell, Bill Talkington, Johnny Turner, and Ronnie Stearns, Sr.
Family visitation will be held from 6-8pm Friday evening at the funeral home in Wilson.
