Mary Lou Nichols

Ringling – Funeral Services for Mary Lou Nichols, 83, of Ringling are scheduled for 2:00 PM Wed. August 5, 2015 at Alexander Funeral Home Chapel of Ringling with Linn Carlson officiating. Interment will follow at the Mount Olive Cemetery of Healdton.

Mary Lou was born August 16, 1931 at Ringling to the late Mr. Clarence D. Nichols, Sr. and Mrs. Lou M. (McCauley) Nichols. She passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2015 at her home north of Ringling.

Mary Lou was raised in Ringling graduating from High School in 1950. She moved to Oklahoma City where she was employed for the First National Bank for 11 years. While living in Oklahoma City, Mary attended college at Central State of Edmond and she graduated with her teaching degree in 1961. Soon after she moved to Huntington Beach, CA where she served as a middle school principal for 25 years. During her stay in California she assisted in raising 3 godsons, Clif, Jeff and Phil Haney who were very special in her life.

Mary Lou moved back to Ringling in 1986 where she resided on the family farm north of Ringling. She had a great admiration for dogs of all kinds. She raised and sold all breeds. Mary also had a very extensive collection of Dog figurines and was an excellent craftsman of woodwork.

Preceding her in death were her Parents, Clarence Nichols Sr. – June 17, 1968 and Lou Nichols – Dec. 16, 1989 and a brother Clarence D. “Pick” Nichols, Jr. -2008.

Survivors include her sister and very best friend, Bea Nickerson of the home; niece, Anna Kaye Langford and husband Walter of Pine Mountain, GA; goddaughters, Gayla Carlson and husband Linn, Janna Snodgrass and Treva Watkins and husband Greg , all of Siloam Springs, AR; godsons, Clif Haney of California, Jeff Haney and wife Karla of Idaho and Phil Haney of California; numerous other family and friends.

Casket Bearers are Red Clour, McCaine Rawlings, Ray Nichols, Harold Ray Winton, Charles Wade and Alan Wallace.

Memorial contributions may be made to Cross Timbers Hospice of Ardmore AT 207 c St. NW Ardmore, OK 73401.

Family visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm Tuesday evening at Alexander Funeral Home of Ringling.
