Mary Lee Harris

Comanche – Funeral Services for Mrs. Mary Lee (Browder) Harris, 67, of Loco are scheduled for 2:00 PM Saturday, November 17, 2012 at the Praise Assembly of God Church of Comanche with Rev. Wade Peyton officiating assisted by her sons Kevin and Kendall Harris. Interment will follow at the Ringling Memorial Cemetery at Ringling with Pastor Warren Harkins officiating. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Ringling.

Mary was born November 27, 1944 at Waurika to the late Mr. Haskell Jack Browder and Mrs. Mary Melissa (Groomer) Browder. She departed this life Wed. November 14, 2012 at Oklahoma City.

Mary was raised in Claypool attending school there until it was consolidated with Ringling. She graduated from Ringling High School in 1962 and then attended college at Southeastern Oklahoma State University of Durant. There she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Physical Education. She furthered her education at Midwestern State University of Wichita Falls, earning her Masters Degree in Special Education.

She and Mr. Ronald J. Harris were united in marriage on May 26, 1972 at Ardmore. Mary was a teacher and counselor all of her working years. She was mostly employed for Public Schools in Texas and Oklahoma and retired from Fox Public Schools in 2006. She currently was employed for Tri County Coop as a psychomertist where she visited several public schools in the area. She loved to travel and visit with her grandkids and was a devoted member of the Praise Assembly of God Church of Comanche. Ronald preceded her in death on January 3, 2008.

Also preceding her in death are her Parents; and a grandson Caleb Harris.

Survivors include her Daughter, Kimberly Harman and husband Kent of Loco; Sons, Kevin Harris and wife Felicia of Mt. Pleasant, TX and Kendall Harris and wife Jennifer of Bronx, NY; Brother, Bill Browder and wife Jimmye Kay of Durant; Sister, Martha Jo Foster of Wichita Falls, TX; Grandchildren, Kyle, Kayla, Noah, Josh, Anna, Jayden, Devon, and Grayson. Numerous other family and friends.

Pallbearers are Noah Harris, Josh Harris, Kyle Harman, Monte Martin, Kenny Foster, Donald Foster, Terry Fletcher, Mike Adkins and Jeff Adkins.

Honorary Bearers are Stanley Davis, Jerry Adkins and the members of the Praise Assembly of God Church of Comanche.

Donations may be made to the Praise Assembly of God Church at RT. 2 Box 3 Comanche, OK 73529.

Family visitation will be from 6-8pm Friday at Alexander Funeral Home of Ringling.
