Mary Lee Freeman

Wilson- Graveside Services for Mrs. Mary Lee (Smith) Freeman, 69, are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Saturday, February 1, 2014 at the Lakeview Cemetery in Marietta, Oklahoma with Murray McMurray officiating. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson, Oklahoma.

Mary was born June 22, 1944 at Loveland, Texas to Mr. Aurthur Dewey Smith and Mrs. Bonnie Bernice (Witcher) Smith. She passed from this life Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at her home in Thackerville, OK.

Mary was raised at Fox near Convict Hill closer to Howard Grocery Store. She graduated from Fox High School and soon after married Mr. Ken Freeman on June 22, 1963 at Marietta, OK.

They made their home in Marietta and after Ken returned from his military service they moved to Gainesville, TX.

Mary worked at Tom Thumb Grocery as the head cashier and lastly was employed at Bomber & Baits making fishing lures. She and Ken moved to Thackerville, OK. in the early 1970’s and have resided there since. Mary enjoyed canning, ceramics, making jewelry and visiting with her family. She always fed any animal that came around and always fed the humming birds.

She is preceded in death by her Parents; Husband, Ken Freeman May 30, 2013; Siblings, Floyd W. “Blinky” Smith, Opal Sue Burns, Marshall Anthony “Mark” Smith, Homer Smith and Lois Sanders; Nephews, Jackie Sargent, Wade Smith and Billy Floyd Burns.

Survivors include her Special Nieces, Bonnie Smith of Graham, OK., Gequita Tyson of Healdton, OK. and Cassie Smith of Shaktoolik, AK.; Sister, Voncille Graham and husband Noah of Oklahoma City, OK.; Brothers, Ernest Smith and wife Jan of Aztec, NM. And Billy Smith of Oklahoma City, OK.; Other Nieces and Nephews, Scott, Tracy, Karen, Lil Ernie, Leroy, Jo, David, Mike, Evelyn, Donna, Randy and Ray; Brother in law, Ted Freeman and wife Betty of Marietta, OK. ; Numerous other Family and Friends.

Pallbearers are Ted Freeman, Mike "Buster" Cahoon, Ray Smith, Randy Sloan, Shelby Smith, Daniel Hutchins and Ernest Smith.

Honorary Bearers are Billy Smith, Noah Graham, Elvis Reed and Scott Freeman.

Visitation will be Friday, January 31, 2014 from 6-8 P.M. at the Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson, OK.
