Mary Ellen Wingo

Healdton – Funeral Services for Mrs. Mary Ellen (Beshears) Wingo, 73, of Healdton are scheduled for 10:00 am Saturday, Feb. 18, 2023, at the First Baptist Church of Healdton with her brother, Foy ”Kim” Beshears and nephews Chris and Jake Beshears officiating. Everyone is encouraged and asked to wear Bulldog colors if attending. Family Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 6 to 8pm at Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Healdton in honor of the Bulldogs basketball game on Friday Evening. Interment will follow at the Mount Olive Cemetery of Healdton,  beside her parents.

Mary was born Dec. 5, 1949, at Ardmore to the late Mr. Foy. E. Beshears and Mrs. Virginia Maxine (Hill) Beshears. She went to her heavenly home on February 14, 2023, at Healdton.

Mary grew up in Healdton, graduating from high school in 1968. She and a few friends attended business school in Oklahoma City before returning to this area. Initially, she worked in Ardmore for The Neustadt Co. for a few years before starting her family. She and Mr. Vollie Roger Wingo were united in marriage on Jan. 21, 1971, at the Healdton Assembly of God Church with Bro. Thomas as the officiating minister.

Mary worked at home as a dedicated homemaker and mother until her children became of school age, and thereafter began a career at Healdton Public Schools. Currently as the business manager of Healdton Schools she was serving her 36th year of employment there. She adored the kids and never missed a Bulldog sporting event. To say, “Once a Bulldog, always a Bulldog”, was a creed that Mary had stamped on her heart. Mary was a member of the Healdton First Baptist Church, being baptized there many years ago.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Foy E. Beshears, Dec. 28, 2006, and Virginia M. Beshears, Oct. 30, 2015.

Survivors include her loving husband, Vollie R. Wingo of the home; daughter, Jenny Chaney and husband Josh and son, Toby Wingo, both of Healdton; brother, Foy ”Kim” Beshears and wife Doris of Yukon; grandchildren, Jenna Martin, Toree Wingo, Jace Chaney and spouse Rylee Hale, James Wingo, Jaspur Chaney, Jenni Chaney and Raegn Wingo; great granddaughter, Blakely Hale; numerous other family and friends.
