Mary Ellen Argo

Healdton - Funeral Services for Mrs. Mary Ellen (Barber) Argo, 77 of Healdton are scheduled for 10:00 A.M., Saturday, July 6, 2024 at the Living Word Tabernacle in Ratliff City with Rev. Eugene Christian officiating.  Interment will follow to Graham Cemetery.  Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Healdton. 

Mary was born July 6, 1946 in Graham, OK to the late Mr. Earnest Almer Barber and Mrs. Lola Mae (Morrow) Barber.  She departed from this life on Wednesday, July 3, 2024 in Duncan, OK.

Mary was raised in Graham attending school there.  She married Mr. Thornton "Lee" Argo in 1971 in Durant, OK.  She worked at Stromberg Carlson in Gene Autry for a short while before working for Southern Oklahoma Resource Center as the direct care supervisor for close to 15 years.  Mary was a hard worker, even being the best hay hauler with Lee.  She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, quilting, cooking, baking, and vegetable gardening.  Mary loved spending time with her family especially with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She also loved getting her hair and nails done and reading her western and romance novels.   Mary got saved at Graham Assembly of God Graham, Ok and was a member for many years and is currently a member of Living Word Tabernacle Ratliff City, Ok.

Preceding her in death were her parents; son, Ernest Argo; brothers, Archie Barber, Clarence Barber, and Clarence Allen Barber; sisters, Lucille Smith and Betty Hess; 4 great grandchildren, Derick Holmes, Madison Rhine, John Rhine, and Aubrey Joy Knox.  

Mary is survived by her husband Lee of 53 years; children, Wesley Thomas Needham, Laura Needham, Lisa Knox and husband Joshua, and Elizabeth Argo; siblings, Minnie Mae Kirkland, and Cissy Schulze; grandchildren, Kayla Beckner and husband Thomas, Haley Hair and husband Dulce, Weston Needham and wife Skylor, Candice Stone and husband Brandon, CJ Rhine and wife Camella, Tyler Thine and wife Jessica, Kathleen Argo, Keaton Argo, Seth Argo, Jacob Knox and wife Cache, Hannah Knox, and Virginia Knox; 26 great grandchildren, and by a host of other family and friends. 

Pallbearers will be Weston Needham, Keaton Argo, Seth Argo, Jacob Knox, CJ Rhine, and Tyler Rhine.  

Visitation will be held Friday evening from 6-8 P.M. at Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Healdton.
