Wilson – Funeral Services for Mrs. Mary Elizabeth (Doty) McNeme, 73, of Cumberland Cove, is scheduled for 10:00 AM Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at the Wilson Assembly of God Church with Pastor Virgil Hill and Bro. Dale Tarp officiating. Interment will follow at Bomar Point Cemetery in Wilson. Services are under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.
Mary was born March 2, 1938 in Wilson to the late Mr. Odis Chester Doty and Mrs. Georgia Roxie (Hester) Doty. She departed this life Saturday, March 26, 2011 at her home in Cumberland Cove.
Mary was raised in Wilson graduating from Wilson High School in 1956. She and Mr. Frank McNeme, Jr. were united in marriage June 2, 1956 at Wilson. They moved to Colorado initially following work in the Oilfield and then several other states before settling for some years at Plano, TX. Mary was a devoted housewife and homemaker to her husband and children. Upon Frank’s retirement, they moved from Plano to Cumberland Cove Community near Madill where they enjoyed their retirement together. There, they attended the Cumberland Baptist Church and Mary was a devoted Christian. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking, and camping and being a homemaker. She was a very devout wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and a loyal friend to many and will be deeply missed by all that knew her.
Preceding her in death is her Parents, and a Brother, Ray Doty.
Survivors include her husband Frank of the home at Cumberland Cove; Son, Raymond McNeme and wife Lisa of Frisco, TX; Daughters, Cynthia Rose and husband Jerry of Plano, TX, Kathy Cardwell of McKinney, TX, Penny McNeme of Mesquite, TX, Georgia Finney and husband Roy of Prosper, TX and Brenda Huddleston, and husband Bruce of McKinney, TX; Sisters, Martha Ligon of Kilgore, TX and Louise Menser and husband Don of Cumberland Cove, OK; Brothers Roy Doty and wife Judy of Carthage, TX and G.E. Doty and wife Jo Lynn of Ardmore. 8 Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren and numerous other family and friends.
Pallbearers Tommy Snow, Hoss Snow, Jacob Cardwell, Aaron Cardwell, Austin Templin, and Bill Self.
Family visitation will be from 6-8 pm Monday evening at the funeral home in Wilson.
