Mr. Marvin Henry Parnell
Ringling – Services for Mr. Marvin Henry Parnell, 89, of Orr are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Monday April 19, 2010 at the Ringling Memorial Cemetery Pavilion with Chaplain Denise Balmer officiating. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Ringling.
Marvin was born August 17, 1920 at Stonewall, OK to the late Mr. Joseph Henry Parnell and Mrs. Mattie (Canada) Parnell. He departed this life Friday April 16, 2010 at Orr.
Marvin was raised by his father residing mostly in Ryan. He attended school there and later married the former Lucy Fay Johnson April 23, 1938 at Ardmore. Marvin also had resided at New Mexico, California, and Arizona and worked the majority of his employed years as a mechanic and a truck driver. He returned to Oklahoma in 1979, living at Cox City, and moved to Orr 3 years ago. Marvin enjoyed talking to his buddies on the CB radio and was a proud member of the “Old Timers” CB club.
Preceding him were Parents, 3 Sisters, Jesse Perry, Annie Barintine, Lucille Hobbs, Daughter, Genevee Parnell, 1 Granddaughter, Verna Brinkley, 2 Great Grandsons, Daniel Calhoon and Douglas Calhoon.
Survivors include his daughter, DeLrena May Richardson and husband Marvin of Orr. 5 Granddaughters, 1 Grandson, 12 Great Grandchildren, 2 Great Great Grandchildren and 2 other great grandchildren on the way.
Pallbearers will be Earl Bunch, Jim Christian, Jerrett Herrera, Ralph Bunch, George Brinkley, and Adam Rutledge.
Honorary Bearers will be the members of the “Old Timers” CB club.
