Martha Ann Wilson

Wilson – Graveside Services for Mrs. Martha Ann (Murr) Wilson, 92, of Wilson is scheduled for 10:00 AM Saturday, May 28, 2011 at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery OF Ardmore with Son, Jon Wilson officiating. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.


Martha was born December 16, 1918 at Woodville, OK to the late Mr. Samuel Candler Murr and Mrs. Daisy Olive (Davis) Murr. She departed this life Wednesday May 25, 2011 at Edmond, OK.


Martha was raised at Kingston graduating from Kingston High in 1937. She married the late Mr. Hobart Woodrow Wilson on May 22, 1953 at Durant. They made their home in Wilson where they Co-owned and operated Wilson Drilling Services for more than 30 years. Martha was a devoted homemaker who was always very active in the United Methodist Church of Wilson. She was a wonderful vocalist, always singing at funerals and church and led the music for many years. Martha was a great and loving Mother to her children and cherished the moments spent with them through the years. She also cherished her grandchildren and loved the Lord with all of her heart. Martha was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church of Wilson. Her husband Hobart, preceded her in death on March 18, 1998.


Also preceding her in death are her Parents; Brother, Paul Murr and Sister Lola Swinney.


Survivors include her daughters, Lo Anne Ellis of Oklahoma City, and Jan Wilson of Wilson. Two Sons, Hobart Dwain Wilson and wife Kathy of Oklahoma City and Jon Alan Wilson also of Oklahoma City. Brother, M.W. “Sam” Murr and wife Laverne of Bethany, and Bill Murr and wife Sue of Bridgecreek, OK. Sisters in law, Lawana Wilson and June Stewart, both of Wilson. Grandchildren, Jonathan Ellis, Marla Ellis, Steve Phelps and wife Tifini, Joshua Wilson, Sean Wilson and Lauren Wilson. Great Grandchildren, Jared, Ramsey and Jesse. Numerous nieces and nephews and other family and friends.


Casket Bearers are Joshua Wilson, Steve Phelps, Jonathan Ellis, Sean Wilson, Gary Giles, Bill Holt and Chris Whitsett.
