Marquietta Murl Sosebee

Ratliff City - Home Going services for Mrs. Marquietta Murl (Franklin) Sosebee, 82, of Ratliff City are scheduled 2:00 pm Thursday, Jan. 7, 2021 at the Ratliff City First Baptist Church with Rev. Glynn Baker officiating. Visitation will be from 6pm to 7pm Wed. Jan. 6, 2021 at the Ratliff City First Baptist Church . Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Ratliff City.

Marquietta was born Nov. 3, 1938 to the late Mr. James Chester "Preach" Franklin and Mrs. Essie Murl (Nolen) Franklin. She went to her heavenly home on Saturday Jan. 2, 2021 at Healdton.

Marquietta was raised primarily within the Ratliff City area, attending school at Fox. She graduated from Fox High School in 1956 and then attended college at East Central of Ada. There she received a Teaching degree and served as a high school educator for several small town schools, including Maud, Waurika and lastly at Ringling High School where she retired.

Marquietta married Jerry Sosebee on June 25, 1977 and they have shared 43 wonderful years together residing in Ratliff City. Marquietta loved her church family at Ratliff City Baptist Church and loved attending services. She also enjoyed being within her home with Jerry.

Her parents, Mr. Preach and Essie Franklin precede her in death.

Survivors include her loving husband Jerry Sosebee of the home and all of the members of the Ratliff City Baptist Church whom they adore.

Casket bearers are Lonnie Carter, Lesley Jones, Dave Gayanich, Brent Perkins, Lee Forshee and Richie Wright.

Honorary bearers will be Merle Suttles, Tim Carter, Keith Firstone, Greg Hendrix and Eddie Ruth.
