Marlin Dennis Hester of Wilson departed this life in Healdton on July 4, 2021 at the age of 67 years, 9 months, and 15 days. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Thursday, July 8, 2021 at Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel of Wilson with Rev. Waylon Dancer officiating. Interment will follow at the Hewitt Cemetery in Wilson. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Wilson.
Dennis was born on September 19, 1953 in Wilson, OK to Mr. Billy Joe Hester and Mrs. Alwanda "Shub" (Acree) Hester.
Mr. Hester was born and raised in Wilson and spend most of his life in this area. He graduated from Wilson High School in 1971. After high school he attended college at Southeastern Oklahoma State University until he became employed with Natco Oil and Gas Co and lived in Electra, TX for a few years. Dennis worked for Natco for over 30 years until he became employed as a consultant for Chesapeake and Williams Energy. Dennis was passionate about motorcycles and riding his Harley Davidson was his life.He and his brother Danny traveled many miles on their bikes throughout the Western United States. Dennis enjoyed having cookouts and smoking meat and visiting with friends and family.
Dennis is preceded in death by father, Billy Joe Hester on Jan 19, 1999 and his brother, Danny Hester on April 9, 2017; and grandmother, Dicie Hester.
He is survived by his wife, Kathie "Kat" (Roberts) Hester of the home in Wilson; mother, Alwanda "Shub" (Acree) Hester of Ardmore; two step sons, Coby Don Moore and wife Shari of Chickasha and Cory William Moore of Wilson; sister, Carla Wood and husband Alan of Lake Texoma; sister in law, Nelda Hester of Lone Grove; granddaughters, Hannah Renea Buchannon, Macy Johnson, Tinley Vance, Korra Blackbear, Lanie Blackbear, and Kaleah White; nieces and nephew, Lori Wood, Cody Wood, and wife Jamie, Jessica Love and husband Grant; numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
Pall Bearers will be Donnie Gaines, Tommy Bryant, James Perkins, Joe Snow, Bill Holt, Brad Heath, and Johnny Knapp.
Family request that all in attendance please practice social distancing and wear protective face coverings at all times during the service and visitation. Services will be broadcast via facebook live for those unable to attend.
