Memorial Inurnment Services for Marion Almenia Culwell, 80, of Simon are scheduled for 10:00am Friday May 10, 2013 at Simon Cemetery with Rev. Joshua Gunter officiating. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.
Almenia was born December 28, 1932 at Simon to the late Mr. Thomas Marion “Curly” Cullwell, Jr. and Mrs. Altha Nora (Sexton) Culwell. She departed this life Friday May 3, 2013 at her farm in Simon.
Almenia attended school initially at Simon and graduated high school at Meadowbrook. She then attended college at Murray State College for almost 2 years where she majored in agriculture. Almenia spent a few years in Michigan State and then moved to Ft. Worth, TX where she was a foster Mom to several disabled children before she was given her wonderful son Billy Bob. Soon after she returned to the family Ranch. Almenia has been a caregiver all of her life . She worked at Turner Schools as a Teachers Aide and Librarian while her son was in school, then continued to help her Dad and Brother Sonny on the family ranch. She was a member of the Eastman Baptist Church.
Her Parents preceded her in death.
Survivors include her son Billy Bob Ball of the home in Simon; Nieces, Janette Carlile and husband Aaron of Overbrook and Cheryl Culwell of Davis; Great Nieces Brandi Carlile of Oklahoma City and Lori Mai and husband Wayne of Overbrook; Great Great Nieces Kaylyn and Tylar of Overbrook. Numerous other family and friends.
Honorary Bearers are James Williams and Don Culwell.
