Mrs. Marilyn Logan (Richardson) Gaines, age 75, of Lone Grove, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, December 9, 2024. A memorial service will be held in her honor at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, December 16, 2024, at the Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel in Wilson, with Rev. David Gardner officiating.
Marilyn was born on November 1, 1949, in Bakersfield, California, to the late Robert Park Richardson and Flo Logan (Pierce) Richardson. Throughout her life, she resided in various states including California, Arizona, and Oklahoma. Graduating from Wilson High School in 1967, Marilyn continued her education for a year at Southeastern. Her career journey included working at the Marietta Pants Factory and pursuing beauty school, where she enjoyed cutting hair until she began her long tenure with Michelin/Uniroyal, from which she eventually retired.
Outside of her professional life, Marilyn found joy in several hobbies, including horseback riding, bowling, reading, crocheting, and baking, activities that she loved sharing with her family and friends.
Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents and her cherished siblings, Joyce, Johnny, and Jimmy. She leaves behind a loving family, including her daughters, Rhonda Bassett and husband Justin, Cynthia Gaines, and Charlotte Noble and husband Kyle; grandchildren, Kyle Noble III, Kelly Taylor and husband Cody, J.J. Barnes, Justin Barnes, Hunter Bassett, and Shelby Bassett; along with seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Jerry Richardson; sisters, Marjorie Remington and Marlene Steele; and a host of other family members and friends who will dearly miss her.
Marilyn’s life was filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories, and she will be remembered fondly by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.
