Wilson - Funeral Services for Mrs. Margie (Gunter) Ware are scheduled for 10:00 A.M., Saturday, April 24, 2021 at Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel in Wilson with Rev. Terry Tolbert officiating. Interment will follow at Keller Cemetery. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Wilson.

Margie went to be with her Heavenly Father at the age of 91 years old on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 in Ardmore, OK. She was born on August 17, 1929 in Keller to the late Mr. Joseph Roscoe Gunter and Mrs. Bernice (Smithers) Gunter.

Margie was the oldest of 15 brothers and sisters. Many are still alive and live in the Ardmore and Wilson areas. She was raised in the Keller area and graduated from Rexroat High School in 1946. In 1947, she married Mr. James Ware, whom she met when she was 14 years old. They lived in the Corpus Christi, TX area and moved to Ardmore in the early 1950's. In 1962, they moved to Irving, TX where Margie worked for Bank of America for 38 years. She was a loving mother, doting grandmother and great-ma. Margie volunteered with Baylor, Scott and White.

Margie volunteered for many years accumulating 13,000 hours of volunteer service. She especially enjoyed volunteering at the gift shop and cappuccino corner at the Irving Baylor Scott and White Hospital. Along with her many gifts and talents, she was an excellent cook. She always balanced her check book, even up to the last month of her life.

Margie attended Oak View Baptist Church in Irving, TX for close to 50 years and felt blessed while volunteering at church after her retirement.

In 2019, she moved to Elmbrook Suites Retirement Community in Ardmore. After moving to Ardmore, Margie became a member of Trinity Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, James Ware; son, Joseph Ware; brother, Billy Wayne Gunter; sisters, Velma Kathryn (Gunter) Reeder, Janice (Gunter) Cartwright and Joyce Gunter; and son in law, Wayne Voskamp.

Margie is survived by her daughter, Charlene (Ware) Voskamp of Brenham, TX; granddaughter, Mary (Voskamp) Luce and husband Ashley; great granddaughters, Penelope Luce and Scarlett Luce of Ft. Garland, CO; sisters, Mary Lynn Stanley of Gilmer, TX, Nancy Aly of Ardmore, Athella Gunter of Wilson, and Beverly McMillan and husband Phil of Ardmore; brothers, Roscoe Gunter and wife Frieda of Wilson, Jim Gunter and wife Mary Ann of Poolville, Bobby Gunter of Ardmore, Ronald Gunter of Wilson, Larry Gunter and wife Nancy of Wilson and Jerry Gunter and wife Coleen of Cheek; along with many other relatives and a host of friends.

Pallbearers will be family.
