Wilson – Funeral Services for Mrs. Margie Sue (Dooley) Sanders, 81 of Wilson are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Thursday, March 22, 2018 at the River of Life Pentecostal Church in Wilson with Rev. David E. Sanders officiating and Rev. Jim Duck assisting. Interment will follow to Hewitt Cemetery. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home in Wilson.
Margie was born Nov. 23, 1936 in Telephone, TX to the late Mr. Edward Eugene Dooley and Mrs. Velma (Chapman) Dooley. She departed from this life on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at her home in Wilson.
Margie was raised mostly in Texas and some in Louisiana. She married Royce D. Sanders on March 3, 1952 in Madill. They initially made their home in Bonham and moved to Wilson in 1955. Margie worked at home as a devoted homemaker. She was a mother of 8 children who enjoyed quilting, gardening, baking, needle work and jigsaw puzzles. Margie worked outside the home for several years doing home health care. Royce preceded her in death on September 8, 2000. Margie was Pentecostal all of her life, lastly attending church at the River of Life Pentecostal Church.
Preceding her in death are her parents; sisters, Eddie Lois Dooley and Patsy Jo Branson.
Margie is survived by her daughter, Dianna Butler and husband Chris of Sherman, TX; sons, David Sanders and wife Deborah of Gilmer, TX, Royce Sanders and wife Susan of Wilson, Bill Sanders of Wilson, Gary Don Sanders and wife Patricia of Wilson, Tim Sanders and wife Elizabeth of Wilson, John Sanders and wife Tammie of Lone Grove and Robbie Sanders and wife Cynde of Healdton; sister, Marcia Turner of Monkstown, TX; 21 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren and numerous other family and friends.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Chris Sanders, Steve Sanders, Donnie Sanders, Shawn Sanders, Jonathan Sanders and Caleb Butler.
A family visitation is scheduled for Wednesday evening from 5-7 P.M. at Alexander Funeral Home in Wilson.
The family would like to extend a special "Thank You" to Cross Timbers Hospice of Ardmore for their kindfelt care and support during Margie's illness the last couple of weeks.
