Graveside services for Margie Faye (Randall) Harper are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Thursday September 26, 2024, at the Dixie Cemetery Located in Ringling, Oklahoma. Lucas Westfall will be officiating the service.

Margie was born Tuesday, August 19, 1941, to Corbit Francis Randall and Nettie Ann Ralls Randall in Hartley, Polk County, Arkansas.

Margie was the youngest of 8 siblings and was a small but fierce woman at 4’ 11”. Her sister Joann loved to tell the story of Margie and the cats she was allowed to keep in the barn. Her siblings had to be nice to those cats or face Margie.

She married her husband David “Lewis” Harper October 21, 1958, and was married 46 years, 7 months and 21 days. Margie and Lewis had 5 children together and lived in over 40 towns during their marriage.

Margie was a stay-at-home mother and wife, except when she helped Lewis with the seasonal work he was doing or with his business interests at the time. She cooked three meals a day, nearly every day, from scratch. Her homemade biscuits were everyone’s favorite.

Margie had an amazing way with animals. When her children were young, she taught her turkey hens to squat to be petted. And when she had her first grandchild, Lucas, she taught her cockatiels how to whistle “Popeye the Sailorman” for him. Margie was also fiercely protective of those she loved. When her 4-year-old daughter Juanita was petting one of the turkey hens Margie trained, the gobbler attacked Juanita. Margie wrung that turkey’s neck and cooked him for dinner.

Margie Harper departed this life on Sunday, September 22, 2024, in Odessa Texas. She lived 83 years, 1 month and 2 days. She is preceded in death by her husband Lewis, her daughter Shirley Ann Harper, a granddaughter Stephanie Westfall, a daughter-in-law Mona Harper, son-in-law Jackie Hennessee, her parents Corbit and Nettie, her four sisters, Lois Virginia (LV) Robertson, Farris May Pierce, Evelyn Marie Edens and Francis “Joann” Pierce; as well as two of her brothers Glen Jay Randall and Windell Wesley Randall.
