Margaret Ann (Lawhorn) Akersten

A memorial service for Margaret Ann Akersten, 68, of Ardmore, will be held 2:00 P.M., Saturday, October 26, 2024, at the Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel in Wilson with Bro. Gary Baldridge officiating. 

Margaret was born on November 12, 1955, at Baltimore, Maryland to the late Mrs. Leona Eva Lawhorn. She departed this life on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, in Ardmore, OK.

For the past 25 years, Margaret was a resident of Oklahoma. In July of 2002, she married the love of her life, Michael Akersten at the courthouse in Gainesville, Texas. Together they created a home that welcomed everyone with open arms. Margaret’s devotion to Michael and their family was evident in everything she did. She was a dedicated caregiver, nurturing both her children and grandchildren with grace and unwavering support. Margaret found joy in spending time with them, creating lasting memories. Her passion for family was the cornerstone of her life, and she poured her heart into every moment shared with them.

Preceding her in death are her mother, Leona; siblings, Richard Lawhorn, Ivan Lawhorn, Carol Medina, Arlene Rutherford, and Charles Lawhorn.

Survivors include her husband, Michael of the home;  her furbaby, Macy; daughter, Marie Spence and husband William of Wilson; sons, William David Moore and wife Anna of Healdton, and Robert Sears of Ardmore; siblings, Cindy Baldridge and husband Gary of Brazoria, TX, and Raynard Lawhorn of Springfield, MO; grandchildren, Shawn, Jr., Lashawna, Amber, Riley, Austin, Isaac, Andrew, Christopher, Randy, Robert, Pryce, Destiny, Addlan, David, and Waylon; great grandchildren, Trey, Axton, Joclyn, Jameson; numerous nieces, nephews, other family, and many friends.
