Marcus Bradshaw “MB” Croan, Jr.
Wilson- Graveside Services for Mr. M.B. Croan, Jr., 84, of Hartford, VT are scheduled for 2:00 PM Friday, January 22, 2016 at the Hewitt Cemetery Pavilion in Wilson with Father Thomas Dowdell officiating. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.
M.B. was born June 6, 1931 at Wilson to the late Mr. Marcus Bradshaw “Shorty” Croan, Sr. and Mrs. Jessie Edna (Wideman) Croan. He departed this life Monday morning, January 18, 2016 at Hartford, VT.
M.B. proudly served in the U.S. Navy for four years and was honorably discharged in Boston, MA where he married his wife Beverly. He went to school and became a successful union plumber, owning two businesses over the years. At one time M.B. was an active member of the American Legion and Elks Lodge, even receiving the honor of Elk of the Year in Massachusetts.
Preceding him in death was his parents; wife, Beverly Ann (Russell) Croan; two brothers, Howard and Dugan.
Survivors include his son, Peter Croan and wife Marilyn; daughter, Suzanne Madison and husband David; youngest son, Scott Croan and his life partner Helen Froloff; brother, Eddie Croan and wife Della; sisters, Elizabeth Whatley and Lorene Crabtree; brother, Corkey Croan; grandchildren, Jessi Martin and husband Alex, Samantha and Daniel Madison; numerous other nieces, nephews, family, and friends. M.B. will be greatly missed by all.
Family visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm Thursday evening at the Alexander Funeral Home Chapel in Wilson.
