Wilson – Funeral Services for Maimita Dean King, 74, are scheduled for 10:00 am Monday, May 9, 2011 at Alexander Funeral Home Chapel at Wilson with Rev. Bruce Almy officiating. Interment will follow at Cornish Cemetery in Ringling. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.
Maimita was born February 23, 1936 at Orr to the late Mr. Irving Montgomery Lee and Mrs. Eula Mae (Russem) Lee. She departed this life Friday, May 6, 2011 at Ardmore.
Maimita was raised in this area living mostly at Wilson and Orr. She attended school at Blackjack. Her and the late Mr. Edgar Dossey King were united in marriage March 6, 1953 at Gainesville, TX. They made their home in Wilson. She was employed at several occupations in and around this area such as the Pants Factory, the Cookie Factory in Marietta, the Wilson Nursing Center, the Wilson Schools as a Librarian and the Hardy House. Above all, she was a dedicated homemaker and housewife to her husband and family. She loved to attend garage sales, sew and play dominoes. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Wilson.
Preceding her in death is Parents; Twin Daughters – Bonnie and Betty; Husband Edgar- November 6, 2004, and 4 sisters and 2 brothers.
Survivors include her daughter Tammy Hodgson and husband David of Orr. Sons, Jimmy King of Wilson, Ronnie King and wife Cindy of Ringling, and Terry King of Wilson. 8 Grandchildren, Tammy, Heather, Chaney, Kristin, Lacey, Alan, Josh, and Elisha. 10 Great Grandchildren and numerous other family and friends.
Casket Bearers are Matthew Cox, Jeremy Kunkle, Alan White, Joshua White, Kaylen Langley, and Johnny Law.
