Curly was born on October 23, 1931 at Dixie, to Luther “Luke” Griffith and Cora Mae (Duck) Griffith.
His early years he attended Mountain Home School, then moving to Loco in his teens where he excelled in basketball. Graduating in 1950, Curly joined the Navy and proudly served his country as MP for the next four years. After his discharge from the Navy, he began working for Halliburton where he learned his trade as a machinist. In 1960, he took a position with Boeing as a mill operator where due to his excellent math skills he became supervisor. Curly’s most memorable project at Boeing was his work on the Lunar Rover. After his retirement in 1985, Curly bought a motor home dividing his time between Arizona, Texas and Oklahoma. On one such trip to Oklahoma, he met Miss Emily while each were visiting relatives in the Healdton Nursing Center. Curly and Emily Ann Carroll were married on February 14th, 1994 at Asphaltum and made their home in Loco later purchasing the old Woodworth House in Ringling where Curly was prohibited from entering as a child. In 2013, they decided to down size to a smaller home and acreage in Healdton.
